This ORANGE HIVE set of one hundred and eighteen cards designed for early readers who are learning to recognize letter combinations and words in print and by sound. It includes four discussion questions and fifty-six consonant blend and digraph sounds assoicated with botanical and ecological images that emphasize phonetic sounds. 
 
HIVE is a multi-dimensional, thematic memory and matching game with supplemental discussion cards designed to develop environmental literacy of students. They supplement DIGS curricular units and can be used in classrooms, libraries, as a part of after-school programming, or for individual children at home.
 
The cards can be used as a memory and matching game, as a part of scavenger hunts, and part of group activities. The set comes with an easy to open and close and durable box for storage.
